Dr. Nicholas Capezio, DMD
Dr. Nick comes from a family of physicians. Knowing he wanted to enter the healthcare field from an early age, he worked for an oral surgeon while pursuing his bachelor’s degree. It was then that he discovered the perfect blend of art, science, and patient interaction existed within the field of dentistry.
Earning his bachelor's degree from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, Dr. Nick attended the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine to achieve his dental degree. He then enrolled in the University of Illinois at Chicago to receive his Advanced Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry and a master’s degree in oral health sciences.
As a board-eligible pediatric dentist near Wheeling, he is currently completing his certification in pediatric dentistry.
Additionally, Dr. Nick is a member of multiple professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Chicago Dental Society, and the Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists.
When he’s not busy in the office, you’ll find him staying active. He loves to ride his bike, go on hikes, use his Peloton, and water ski. He’s also a huge Chicago sports fan. A surprising fact about Dr. Nick is that he speaks Spanish – something he picked up after living in Ecuador for 10 months before choosing to enroll in dental school.
Dr. Ted Loiben
Dr. Ted chose to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a dentist near Wheeling. After completing his undergraduate degree in biology from Tulane University in New Orleans, he enrolled at Loyola University School of Dentistry in Chicago to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
He then completed a one-year general practice residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital Medical Center in Chicago, receiving extensive surgical and anesthesia training. Dr. Ted spent time working as a general dentist but discovered he enjoyed helping younger patients.
Dr. Ted’s desire to help put children at ease while at the dentist’s office led him to pursue this specialty, so he attended the University of Nebraska’s two-year residency program to earn his certificate in pediatric dentistry. There, he received training and hands-on experience in child psychological development and how to address apprehensive children who require everything from regular checkups to complicated procedures.

Our dental hygienist, Sharon, took the time to show my son what she would be doing with toy props. She explained everything beforehand and again during in words that a toddler could understand. Dr. Capezio is great with kids, thorough and kind. They are creating a great environment for kids to get comfortable with going to the dentist.
